These people which have reached such an advance in history, are known today as "The Mayas". Their descendants were casting through the 16th Century with the Spanish Conquerors who lived in this region and who also gave their Architectonic, Artistic testimony and their love for this land. Yet they are surviving native descendants of thoroughbred who perpetuated a series of traditions that only Guatemalans can observed, but the majority of Guatemala people today are a mix of two different races, trying to offer the best, kind people for sure, perhaps new friends. Day 1 GUATEMALA - ANTIGUA
Arrival in Guatemala City and transfer to Antigua. Accommodation at Hotel Casa Florencia (www.cflorencia.com)
Day 2 ANTIGUA
The city of Antigua was built in 1543. It preserves the architectonic characteristics of the 16th Century, such as stone paved streets, baroque style buildings, large doors with stone arches, windows with stone base and forged steel balconies, beams carved in precious woods, large stone fountains and tile roofs. All houses and buildings are of colonial style. They prevail in a strange and extraordinary mixture of peace and active life, forming today a beautiful colonial city where it seems that time stood still. UNESCO declared Antigua "Heritage of Humanity" in 1979. It is located between three volcanoes, the Agua, Fuego and Acatenango.Half day walking tour of Antigua, visiting the main plaza and the most important monuments.
Day 3 ANTIGUA – PACAYA VOLCANO
Early morning departure to the Pacaya Volcano. It is located one and a half hour from Antigua and it is active. The climb takes about one and a half hour.
The Calderas Lagoon park is close to the climbing point. Canopy and free time to enjoy the forest and the lagoon. (www.parquenaturalcalderas.com).

Day 4 ANTIGUA – CHICHICASTENANGO – LAKE ATITLAN
Transfer to Chichicastenango.
Santo Tomas Chichicastenango, known for its Indian market held every Thursday and Sunday, is only 87 miles from Guatemala City. It is the commercial center of the department of Quiché. Indians from throughout the region stream into town on market days to buy, sell, socialize and worship. While buyers and sellers bargain for items such as produce, flowers, handicrafts (textiles, ceramics, carvings, wooden chests and traditional masks). Mayan-Christian rites are practiced by devout Indians on the steps of Santo Tomas and El Calvario Churches that face each other on both end of the market plaza. The church of Santo Tomás was built in the 1540 over the ruins of a
Mayan temple, now it is an example of colonial architecture. The Shrine of Pascual Abaj, where mystical and ancient rites dedicated to this tone idol are performed, is located on a nearby hilltop.Free time for shopping and visiting the church.
Afternoon transfer to Panajachel on the shores of Lake Atitlán. Boat transfer to the village of Santiago Atitlán. Accommodation at Posada de Santiago or Hotel Bambu
Lake Atitlán is located in the department of Sololá, 2 hour-drive from Guatemala City. "Atitlán" means place of a lot of water. The very special deep blue color of the lake is the consequence of its great depth and transparency. It was formed by a volcanic caldera. Three volcanoes surround it, Toliman, San Pedro and Atitlán. It is possible to climb all of them. Lake Atitlán is surrounded by many colorful Villages. Each Village has a dress with a special design and pattern. Panajachel is the most important village of the area, and therefore most of the hotels, restaurants, discotheques and stores are located there. Many of the villages can be visited by boat
Day 5 LAKE ATITLAN - ANTIGUA
Morning Horseback ride. Depart to “El Mirador”. The trail takes you through corn and coffee fields before entering the mountain pass and working up to El Mirador. Return to the finca for a gourmet brunch. Afternoon boat transfer to Panajachel and shuttle transfer to Antigua. Accommodation at Hotel Casa Florencia
Day 6 ANTIGUA
Free day in Antigua, or optional tour to Tikal.

Day 7 GUATEMALA
Three hours before flight departure, transfer to the airport

Early transfer to the airport for flight to Flores. Arrival and transfer to Tikal for a guided tour. Lunch and entrance fee included. Afternoon transfer to the airport for return flight to Guatemala City and transfer to Antigua.

Day 5 Lake Atitlán-Antigua-Guatemala
Transfer from Lake Atitlán to Guatemala City. At 22:00 overnight-bus departure to Flores in the Petén area.
Day 6 Tikal
06:00 arrival in Flores. Breakfast at Hotel Petén. Transfer to Tikal for a guided tour including lunch. Afternoon transfer to Flores. Free time in Flores until bus departure at 22:00 to Guatemala City. (8 hours)
Day 7
06:00am arrival in Guatemala City and transfer to the airport or hotel depending on the departure flight time
