Dominican Republic! Welcome to this amazing Caribbean Island, formerly called Hispaniola Island, full of happiness, the first Spanish settlement of America. When Christopher Columbus arrived on this ground, he was amazed about the beauty and the variety of the scenery. During this trip you will visit the marvellous Mountain Chain "Sierra de Bahoruco" which offers unforgettable panoramic views over the Caribbean Sea and is home of one of the best coffee bean of the Dominican Republic.

You will spend six (6) nights in a totally natural wooden made Ranch in the middle of the tropical forest. You won't miss any activities planned on the program and during you free time you will certainly enjoy all the activities offered to you at the ranch (natural waterfall, three (3) rivers, water natural swimming pools, trampoline, chess, domino board, card games, foosbaal table, dart game, basketball field, ping pong and much more. 

DAY 1        Santo Domingo Las Americas Airport, transfer private A/C van to Barahona (3 hours)

You will spend the night in a nice A/C hotel room in the center of the city but before that, be ready for an amazing seafood restaurant. The south west region of the Dominican Republic is famous for traditional fishing industry. You will enjoy fresh from the day your king size lobster, shrimps, squids and all kind of fish (included in your package), but also your first "Pina Colada" (speciality of the restaurant). Later on if you feel like you have energy to spend, you can practice Merengue or Bachata dancing all along the Malecon (sea front) where the restaurant is located.(D)

DAY 2        Site-Seeing - Hike - Beach and Fun...       

Breakfast. You will leave the hotel in the morning by private van and visit typical fishermen villages (Paraiso, Cienaga) on south coast of Barahona. You will have plenty time to buy your lunch in Los Patos, in between the shortest river in the Caribbean (only 200 meters long) and the ocean. It is hard to resist for a swim in the crystal river water of the natural swimming pool or in the turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea! For the digestion you will hike a little bit up the mountain and discover an authentic Tainos cave from the pre-Columbian era. You can observe several graving and seven (7) types of bats. Don't forget your flashlight. (B)
After this scary experience, you will jump on a truck and start unpaved road all the way up to the ranch. You will have to cross a river (oops bridge is missing) to get there! Arrival in the ranch and time to relax a bit and spend your first night in the middle of the tropical forest.

DAY 3        Full day trek in National Park (5 hours). Lunch box included   

Breakfast. Early morning we will leave the ranch by truck and go all the way up to the mountain to the Ecological Center of Cachote in the National Park Sierra de Bahoruco (1400 metres above sea level).
After a short visit of the place we will start going down by foot across the cloud forest. This primary vegetation is incredible, don't forget your camera you will probably find on your way one of the 45 types of endemic birds of the park (parrots, humming birds, Jilguero and many more…). The trek keeps going downhill all along the river Cortico and then Nizaito, in the middle of coffee and cacao plantation back to the ranch.(B,L)

DAY 4        Horseback riding in the mountains

Breakfast. In this morning you will go by horse across mountains. You will see all the variety of the agriculture of this beautiful region: orange, grapefruit, lemon, cacao, coffee, papayas, mangos…. and again the Caribbean Sea from the top. We will horse ride back to the ranch for lunch. The afternoon if free today, just enjoy the wonderful waterfall and relax in the natural river water swimming pools.(B)

DAY 5        Full day at the beach: Bahia de Las Aguilas (Eagle Bay).

Breakfast. Early morning we will leave the ranch first by truck then by A/C Van all the way to the South.
We will arrive in La Cueva, a typical fishermen village where people leave inside real prehistoric caves. There we will jump on a boat which will take us to the most beautiful ecological beach of the Caribbean: Bahia de Las Aguilas. This six (6) miles long white sand beach with crystal clear water is only accessible by boat. You will be surprised by the beauty of the place. You'll be served a typical seafood lunch on the beach watching pelicans and eagles flying around. Don't forget your snorkelling equipment to discover this underwater world habited by all kind of colorful fishes, rays and lobsters hiding below coral reef.(B,L)

DAY 6        White river Tubing

Breakfast. Today is time for real adventure with white river tubing. Together with a professional guide and all necessary equipment, you will enjoy tubing in rapids. First you'll be transported by truck to the upper part of the river where you will start this unforgettable experience all the way down the river to the Ranch. You'll be back for lunch and spend the afternoon there relaxing on a hammock.(B)

DAY 7        Free day / Optional tour

Breakfast. This day is free for you to enjoy natural environment and tranquility of this wonderful Ranch.(B) or (B,L) with option below:

Option #1: if you wish you could book our special day Tour to Enriquillo Lake & National Park (300 km trip). All day, departure around 8:00 am back to the hotel around 6:30 pm. Visit of the National park and the lake Enriqquillo (2 hours  boating included). Cabricos island, Enriquillo lake, the national park, promenade in this paradisiac island, then time to eat (meal & drinks included on the beach looking at the wildlife). When you are done with your meal, we will be dropping you off in the border of Haiti, where a great open market is there for your shopping pleasure, all kind of locals with hand made souvenirs, Haitian painting, ect. Then, we will be visiting the sulfuric waters which are known to be so good for your skin, swimming as long as you want before going dancing at the sound of Merengue, drinking local beer (presidente). This trip is definitly a great day full of music, food, wildlife (crocodiles, iguanas, red flamingos, to name a few), site-seeing, boat trip, shopping, all this for only: $70.00 per person.

Option #2: If you are not interested, but you want to laid down on the beach for your last day, a taxi will cost you only $20.00 R/T (ask the front desk to set it up for you).

DAY 8        Goodbye (B)
Breakfast. Already time to leave….
You will leave the ranch by truck to cross the river one last time and in the fishermen village of Paraiso you will jump on the van for a 3 hours drive back to the Airport of Santo Domingo Las Americas.
