Upon your arrival to San Jose International airport, you will be transferred via shuttle to the rental car office where your reserved vehicle (basic manual rental car) will be waiting for you (included in our package with mandatory Costa Rica insurance and taxes). From there, you will fill out your rental agreement, get a FREE Costa Rica map and then on your way for a 3 1/2 hour drive to Manuel Antonio where your hotel JUNIOR SUITE has been reserved.
Your JUNIOR SUITE is air conditioned and our hotel RANCHO CASA GRANDE is located in the lowlands of the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. It is a luxurious, full service hotel with its own private air terminal (landing strip). The hotel is nestled in the rainforest, only five (5) minutes from the MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL RESERVE and the port town of Quepos, only twenty (20) minutes away from San Jose by airplane. This relaxing half-day tour begins just off shore of the Damas Island estuary, about 5 KM south of Quepos. Your guide will pick you up at the hotel and drive you to the launch at Damas Island. Lunch will be served either before or after the tour depending on the time of departure. As you glide along the fascinating waterways in your covered motor boat, your guide will provide comprehensive information about the complex, self-sustaining mangrove system. Using a telescope, exotic toucans, flocks of parakeets, parrots, and the vivid colors of tanagers and hummingbirds may be found amouflaged in the dense forest.
